RC Takes Paris 2017

I can't believe it's already been 4 months since we were in Paris!  It seems like it was just yesterday!
We did a little reunion for our Paris trip and made crepes and I made a video of our trip.  Enjoy :)

Au Revoir Paris!

Our time in Paris has unfortunately come to a close.
Sunday was quite a chill day.  We went to church.
On the subway to church!  We were the only people in this train!
It was so fun hearing the testimonies of all the members!  They talked a lot about the temple!
After church, most of us (more so those of us who went to Normandy yesterday) went home and took naps.
When we woke up, we made our way to the Eiffel tower and took pictures.
Then Jess and I made our way over to Arc de Triomphe.  There was some neat ceremony going on there.
Then we just explored and went home.

Monday, three of the girls went to Disneyland Paris.  Jess and I went souvenir shopping, a cute little bookstore, bought some pastries,
and then met up with Ellis and Gena at Sacré-Cœur
and then shopped along the cute streets nearby.
We made our way to Moulin Rouge
And eventually just walked all the way home, stopping in shops as we went.
I was getting sick Monday so I wasn't up to much, but walking was fine.

Tuesday we got up early, made on last stop at our favorite bakery around the corner, and went to the airport to head back home!

Normandy Beaches and Le Mont Saint-Michel ♥

Today was probably by FAR my most favorite day of this trip!
Just incredible.
We made our way to the airport to rent a car.
Stick Shift!  I had learned how to drive stick shift 2 weeks prior to our trip, having practiced 3 times...now I'm driving in Paris with a stick shift car... YIKES!  Haha it was only slightly scary at first....but then it turned out okay :)
First stop: Normandy Beaches
It was kinda rainy all day, but with it being rainy/cloudy it made the feeling here at the beaches more surreal.  More somber.  It was really neat.  And beautiful.
Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial
Omaha Beach
Pointe Du Hoc
Second stop: Le Mont Saint-Michel
Don't worry -Ellis is driving at this point
While everyone else sleeps...
Cute little villages on our drive ♥
Our first view of Mont St. Michel!!!
I felt like I was at Disneyland and in Harry Potter all at the same time.  This castle blew me away and I fell in love instantly.
When you walk inside the gates on the island, you're instantly immersed into this little town feel with small alley ways walking up to the abbey on top with little shops on both sides of the alley.

We climbed up to the wall and walked into the gardens of the abbey - SO BEAUTIFUL.  And some great views!

I could've stayed a couple days just at this place! I loved it here so much.
We got back to Paris airport close to midnight
Taking a picture with our car rental....even though you can't even see our car. haha!
where we said goodbye to Doro - she was going to be catching her flight back to Germany in the morning. It was fun having her with us!
Trying to get back to our Air Bnb was an adventure!  The last regular hour trains and buses had left right before midnight.  So we walked around, talked to people, tried to get any information we could about how to get back to Paris.  Luckily we discovered that there was a night bus that came every so often during the late hours of the night.  So we waited for that and hopped on, eventually making our way back home.
