A Cultured Day in Paris

We started off the day by going to the Louvre.  It was neat!  SO BIG.  We definitely didn't see everything, we only spent about 2-3 hours there.  Honestly (and I hope I don't offend anyone) I'm not much of a museum person.  So while it was cool and all, the Louvre wasn't my favorite thing.
We obviously made great use of out time, too, by trying to mimic statue poses
The Mona Lisa is so small!  And while we got this picture of just us....
Behind us was CRAZY!
After walking around for 2-3 hours we were pooped!
Afterwards, we went strolling along the river and started to look for a place to eat lunch.  We found the love lock bridge!  There are so many locks on it!
I didn't get a picture of the love locks, but we got one of us strolling along the river :)
After lunch we all grouped together again and met at the Conciergerie.  Neat building!  I felt like I was in Harry Potter while I was in there!
After that, we went to the chapel Sainte-Chapelle.  As I walked up the stairs to the second floor and the room was revealed I literally stopped where I was and gasped as I stared at all the stained glass!  STUNNING.
After we finished drooling over how beautiful this room was, we walked around to find a certain ice cream place and started drooling over that as soon as we tasted it.  It was magnificent.  I highly recommend going here for ice cream in Paris!
Strolling around... :)
Berthillon - Best Ice Cream in town!
We then walked into a candy shop and bought some macaroons and other candies and rested our feet a little.  Then Ellis, Jess, Doro and I left the group to go to the Paris Catacombs!  They were amazing yet creepy all at the same time!  I felt like I was in The Hunchback of Notre Dame!  It was just incredible how many bones were stacked upon each other for so long and then there were bones even behind the ones stacked up to make the walls!
My mom and dad are leaving the next day to go to Southern France and continue their journey over to Scotland and Ireland.  So we met up for dinner one more time :)  My dad ordered escargot for us to try....YIKES.  When I pulled it out of the shell, I saw it's little eyes hanging down.  That just about did it for me!  But all the girls encouraged me to still do it with them, so on the count of 3 we did it.  Chewed briefly, and then quickly swallowed that thing.  If it weren't for the pesto sauce on top I don't think I could've done it!
L: Photo shoot of Ellis while we were waiting for my parents.
R: My mom loves pictures of doors so we posed in front of one for her :)
ESCARGOT
I'm pretty sure my face had the same look of disgust that Jess has
It was fun being able to see my parents one last time in Paris before they left :)  After we parted ways, Doro, Ellis, Jess and I sat on the river bank and at some of our treats that we had gotten with mom and dad.  Ellis and I split a pistachio raspberry macaroon - HOLY COW.  Definitely the best macaroon I had ever tasted that trip!  It was delicious.  And so pretty.
It was a fun day!  We headed home and just hung out with all the girls in our Air BnB and just laughed, talked.  It was great. :)
